New IINS, FIREWALL and VPN courses

Updated Security courses for Cisco Borderless Networks architecture specialization

Cisco has brought on changes to the Cisco Security courses IINS, VPN and FIREWALL courses and to the corresponding exams. These modifications have effect on the CCNA and CCNP Security certifications and also on the Borderless Networks architecture specialization.

The most important changes per course are the following:

Implementing Cisco Network Security (IINS)
In the new IINS course a number of new topics will be discussed such as borderless networks, virtualization, SecureX and IronPort. Furthermore there will be more focus on IPv6 and the new Cisco Configuration Professional GUI features. The IINS course is part of the CCNA Security certification.

Deploying Cisco ASA Firewall Features (FIREWALL)
In the new FIREWALL course a number of new topics will be introduced. There will be more focus on licensing, the new way of configuring NAT and EtherChanneling. The FIREWALL course is part of the CCNP Security certification.

Deploying Cisco ASA VPN Solutions (VPN)
The new VPN course will also focus on the new features of the Anyconnect 3.0 client. The VPN course is part of the CCNP Security certification.

The courses Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches (SECURE) and Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System (IPS 7), they too are part of the CCNP Security certification, remain unchanged.

With new courses come new exams. The new exams are, just like all Cisco exams, available through Pearson VUE. All exam codes can be found here.
